I die.

You have to be pretty established in the fashion world to know who I'm talking about after hearing a two-word sentence, right?

According to InStyle.com, everyone's favorite fashion stalker Rachel Zoe is designing her own line of clothing, accessories and shoes. Do I even need to say that is bananas?

Apparently her shtuff will be sold in department stores, specialty shops and online starting in the fall of 2011. Make it fall of 2010 and we'll have a deal.

The mag quoted her:

“You will definitely see me in the clothes," Zoe said. "Like, you will absolutely see my trademark pieces. I’ll definitely do faux furs and incredible leather jackets and great trousers.”

Hey are you a size small?

'Cause I'm not. And usually I don't care about that fact until I stumbled upon these amazeballs high waisted Chanel pants with a 24 inch waist on ebizzlers. (That's ebay, for those who don't speak homey.)

Right now they're going for $24. If you win them, let me know. So I can hate you out of jealousy.

Oh yeah, they're available here. Sigh. Happy bidding!

That's my dog Riley, who is inconvenienced at being one of my favorite things in the world. Not shown is my dog Lola, who had more important things to do than stop and pose for a picture, but she said her secretary might be able to pen me in some time next week.

Although the day started out beautiful, it was raining by late afternoon. Even though I'm not a Twi-Hard, I felt like snuggling up in a blanket and watching some man candy for the evening.

Then geeks took over the world...

Geeky Chic perfected by Morphine Generation.

I don't usually admit anything personal here, but I'll tell you a little secret: I work as a journalist. And yesterday I had the pleasure of interviewing a 16 year old third place winner in a national science fair. Repeat, national.

And he looked and acted very much the part.

He told me that during the science competition, when amongst other science enthusiasts, it was the first time he related to someone his age in a while, because his classmates were "mean."

And it made me feel bad for him, but it also made me feel bad for his naive classmates. Because in 15 years when he's among the people who are curing cancer, creating new music, running for president, and trying to figure out what to do with their millions, his classmates will be in their parents' basements flipping through old year books while sipping Naddy Lights.

So I went home, slapped on some of my obnoxiously bright lipstick and my favorite librarian glasses to prove a point: Geeks... are... hot. Really hot in fact.

They're smart enough to get your jokes, they plan to accomplish something with their lives, they care about things other than themselves, and since they were on the lower end of the social spectrum, they usually developed compassion and empathy along the way.

And I'm one of them. Height of my geekiness:

Didn't I look like Tavi from Stylerookie when I was a kid?

Nearly nude feet

I was pretty pumped to score these nude Guess heels for $20, marked down at TJMaxx. (Get it? "Pumped?" Alright, cheap laugh, I know.)

Regardless, there are still a few similar ones in nude and gray hanging out with the other forgotten, passed over soles in the sale section. Run, don't walk, to find them. They are more comfortable than they appear.

The rest of the outfit was purchased in one shopping trip to H&M, and are all still available.

Nude pumps look great with jeans, tee shirts, and fancy frocks. Check out how these ladies pulled them off:

Alright let's talk jean shorts.

Anyone who's dipped into a popular mall store knows what's out there at this point.
They're short. They're overpriced. They're made for the bodies of 13 year olds.
But fret not. Cut off shorts are easier to obtain than you may have thought.
But that doesn't mean grab an old pair of jeans and a pair of scissors and go at it. Because here's the thang:

When you buy jeans for yourself, you buy them to fit your thighs.
And there's nothing less fortunate than a person who has jean cutoffs that cling to their thighs. Let's have a moment of silence for those poor souls.

Instead you could try doing what I did. Go to a thrift store, find a pair of jeans that are a size or two too big. Make sure they still stay up on you but leave plenty of room at the thigh.

It doesn't matter if they're too short but the quality of the jean material is crucial. Make sure they're not a junior brand. Make sure they don't have stretch to them, and make sure they're the type of denim you'd see hanging from a clothes line in the 1950s. Mine were Polo.

Then take them home and put them on. Mark the inside and outside of one thigh, about an inch longer than you think is appropriate. (That way you can roll them up a tad, and they won't fray into nothingness the first time you throw them in the wash.)

Then use a magazine and cut straight all the way through both legs from one mark to the other. Use the scissors to cut the threads at the top of the pockets. Wet the jeans and throw them in the dryer. Wherever a white string sticks out of the material, pull it out. Make friends with it.

My advice is this. If you wear cutoffs, try to dress classy otherwise. It's all about balance. Here's an inspiration page from runwaydaily showing how other broads wear the trend:
